CHALLENGE
While serving as a facilitator at an energy course for children, I attempted to explain nuclear energy. What was supposed to be a brief introduction turned into a long and tedious explanation, prompting one of the organizers to conclude by saying that it was a complex subject only scientists could understand. That remark took me by surprise, as I believe that, although the subject may seem abstract, it should not be knowledge confined only to scientists but accessible to everyone. This incident became a personal challenge for me to simplify the subject and make it understandable for children.

APPROACH
One day, on my way home on the subway, a spark of inspiration hit me, and I began writing a children’s tale. In this story, sources of energy came to life, transforming from mere objects into vibrant, lively characters. This led to the creation of ‘Energizing Adventures’, a captivating narrative where nine characters, each representing a different energy source, join forces to fight climate change and strive for energy security.

LESSONS LEARNT

I began writing the story as a self-taught enthusiast, guided purely by the story as I imagined it. I shared it with various interest groups and received a lot of feedback. One of the most important lessons was understanding how stories that truly move us work. I started as an amateur, but then I took a scriptwriting course, which greatly helped me to enhance the plot and make it much more enjoyable.
